It’s a great feeling when you can give something back to the industry that you work in. Last week, the Association of Catering Excellence held its Ready Steady Cook event where chefs from the contract catering industry cook 2 dishes in 30 minutes using the ingredients provided on the night. Inevitably, there are unused food items at the end of the evening which could potentially go to waste.
Cathy is on the organising committee, and was responsible for finding a good home for the leftover food from the event. It went to City Harvest, a great charity that redistributes edible surplus food from businesses to those in need.
