Central Hall Wesley's CafeWesley’s Cafe, located within Central Hall Westminster  London’s largest purpose built conference and events venue is now finished and we were delighted to be involved. Our brief was to redesign and refresh the old servery area, and update the freezer room and cold room in the kitchen.

The first thing we did in the servery was to separate the coffee bar from the main servery to free up queuing for customers who just want to have a coffee.

We also put in a theatre-cooking station for live cooking, and used a ventless cooking centre so extraction isn’t necessary.

The job involved stripping out the old servery, running new electrics within the area, building a new bulkhead, installing new flooring, a new servery counter and salad bar and separate coffee bar, new tables and chairs and banquette seating. Our biggest challenge was creating the new curved floating bulkhead which was 6 meters wide by 2.5 meters. Getting the weight spread right was crucial so it didn’t fall down.

One thing that wasn’t new is the floor. The parquet flooring which was reconditioned is over 100 years old.

On the choice of materials, Director Michael Burchmore said:

“We have used Storers for a long time – the quality of their work over the years has never let us down.
It the same with all the equipment we put into our projects – we choose the equipment that we know and trust will do the work for the task at hand.

We are thrilled with the overall result, as are the team at Central Hall Westminster.”
